Alejandro Vázquez Torronteras es doctorando en la Universidad de Jaén. Máster en E/LE por la Universidad de Granada, actualmente trabaja en Xi'an Fanyi University (China).
Antxon Álvarez Baz es doctor en lengua española por la Universidad de Granada. Actualmente es profesor titular del Centro de Lenguas Modernas de la Universidad de Granada.
Resumen
Han pasado más de 400 años desde que se publicó la primera parte de Don Quijote de la Mancha, pero su vigencia en las clases de E/LE es eterna. En la obra magna de Cervantes encontramos, además de una aguda crítica a las novelas de caballería de la época, una serie de temas socioculturales que pueden ser explotados en nuestras clases, en especial en lo referente a la gastronomía, las costumbres populares o los horarios. En definitiva, con el Quijote como herramienta, a la vez que trabajamos con un texto literario, con las ventajas que ello conlleva, tenemos la posibilidad de trabajar una serie de rasgos socioculturales presentes en los inventarios del Plan Curricular del Instituto Cervantes y, por lo tanto, susceptibles de llevar al aula

Abstract
More than 400 years has passed since the first part of Don Quijote de la Mancha was published, but it’s still very current in the SFL classes. In Cervantes’s masterpiece we can find a very sharp criticism of the novels of chivalry from that time as well as some sociocultural topics which can be treated in class, especially the gastronomy, the popular customs or the schedules. To sum up, using the Quijote as a tool, we work a literary text with the advantages associated with it and we can also treat some sociocultural features presents in the inventories of the Cervantes Institute Curriculum Plan which could be worked in class.In this paper we are releasing the results of an interview with 33 alumni graduated from the Department of Spanish at Fu Jen University (Taiwan). The interview consists of 10 items on various issues: use of Spanish after graduating, usefulness of the Spanish subjects they studied, as well as suggestions to adapt students’ academic training to their future needs in their personal, social, professional and academic life. The overall objective of this research is to find out their circumstances when they either enter the labour market or continue their postgraduate training. The reality is that after graduating their use of Spanish for personal purposes quadruples that of professional applications and is sixfold higher than that of academic uses.
